Extracurricular Teachers

At First Methodist School we believe that instruction in the arts, languages, and physical education is a cornerstone to a well rounded curriculum. These classes allow our students to find and develop abilities that they enjoy while still developing critical thinking and academic skills.

Spanish

Students in Kindergarten through Eighth grade receive instruction in Spanish. Learning a second language helps build critical thinking skills that are related to future academic success. In addition these classes expose our students to cultures other than their own, giving them a better understanding of their world. This understanding prepares them for success in their future academic endeavors and beyond.

Chapel

This segment of our program is sponsored by the First Methodist Church and is presented by the Pastor for students in 3 year-old Preschool through Eighth grade. Students will participate in a monthly nondenominational Character Development lesson as well as singing and prayer. These lessons will encourage our students to represent themselves, their families, and their school well in the community throughout their lives.
